"NEW" Housing Incentive in the Town of Shoal Lake

Effective October 1, 2004 the Town of Shoal Lake is implementing an "Infill Housing Incentive". An owner who places a new or existing house on a Town of Shoal lake property being served by Town Water & Sewer may be eligible for a cash incentive over a period of two to four years. Applications must be made within six months of the house being added to the Town of Shoal Lake Assessment Roll.

A NEW house will receive funding in each of four consecutive years:

First year - $1,500
Second year - $1,300
Third year - $1,200
Fourth year - $1,000
A NEW house shall be defined as:

built on site structures, constructed in the year or the immediately preceding year, that complies with building codes and by-laws of the Town of Shoal Lake, or
Ready to Move (RTM) homes constructed in the year or the immediately preceding year as certified by the contractor that complies with building codes and by-laws of the Town of Shoal Lake, and
A "never occupied" house
An EXISTING house will receive $1,000 annually for two consecutive years. An EXISTING house is defined as a house that was previously occupied and is moved into the Town of Shoal Lake from another municipal jurisdiction that complies with building codes and by-laws of the Town of Shoal Lake, and any conditions the Town of Shoal Lake may impose.
