Health Care Employment Incentive
The Town and R.M. of
Shoal Lake will offer a Health Care Employment incentive to any health care
professional (physicians, nurses, technologists, therapists, etc.) hired to fill
a vacancy at the Shoal Lake-Strathclair Health Centre, effective August 15,
2005. The incentive will be $7,500 for physicians and $4,000 for other health
care professionals payable in one lump sum by the Shoal Lake Regional Community
Development Corporation following the signing of a written agreement (see
Appendix "A") subject to the following conditions:
1. The employee must remain employed at the Shoal Lake-Strathclair Health Centre
in a professional capacity for a minimum of two years. If he/she wishes to leave
before two years, the incentive will be pro-rated by month and the outstanding
balance repaid to the Shoal Lake Regional Community Development Corporation by
the employee.
2. The employee must reside within the boundaries of the Town or R.M. of Shoal
Lake
3. The incentive is based on full-time employment. Part-time positions will be
pro-rated, e.g. a 0.5 FTE doctor would receive $3,750; a 0.8 FTE registered
nurse would receive $3,200. If a part-time position is increased within the two
year period an additional sum pro-rated for the balance of the period will be
issued, e.g. If the 0.5 FTE doctor becomes full-time after eighteen months, an
additional $937.50 would be paid ($3,750 X 6/24).
