JULY 2009

Saturday, July 11th
All activities are in Oakburn at the school and hall.
· 10:00-12:00 – Oakburn Lions pancake breakfast $5.
· Registration.
· 12:00-5:00 - 4-H Food Concession.
· 1:00-5:30 - Beer Gardens.
· Noon–Parade (contact Kendra Sitko).
· 1:00 - Car Show.
· 2:00-5:00 – Local entertainment including: Teren Ukrainian Dancers, The Four Seasons, Jen Swistun, Robert & Brad Evanyshyn.
· Children's entertainment - Darcy Oak, magician.
· 5:00-7:00 - Supper at the Hall $10.
· 8:00-1:00 - Social featuring Prairie Crocus $15.
· Fireworks.

Sunday, July 12th
· 10:00 - Non-denominational church service at Lakeview Park.
· 2:00 – Old-fashioned Fashion Show hosted by the Rebekahs & Beta Sigma Phi Sorority at the Community Hall, silver collection.
· 4:00 – Old-fashioned Picnic & games at Prairie Mountain Regional Museum.

Monday, July 13th
· 7:00–10:00 pm – Meet & Greet Wine & Cheese Reception to officially open the registration desk at the Community Hall hosted by Shoal Lake Leisure Services. King & Queen candidates will be on hand to serve. Local entertainment including harpist, Kelsey Nicholson. Photo and other displays will be on site.

Tuesday, July 14th
· 9:00-5:00 - Open House hosted by the Pioneer Club at the Drop-In Centre includes: cards, shuffle, pool, coffee, and refreshments.
· 1:00-8:00 - Northwest Mounted Police Re-enactment at the Police & Pioneer Museum grounds. Displays, presentations, and setting off the cannon at the end of the historical tour (5:00).
· 2:00-4:00 – Registration desk open at the Community Hall.
· 1:00 – Historical tours including cemeteries, historical houses, heritage sites, and museums (silver collection).

Wednesday, July 15th * Fair Day
Agricultural Society Fair through the day at the Communiplex and Fairgrounds.
· 6:00-8:00 – Chamber of Commerce Pancake Breakfast - free with fair admission.
· 9:00 – Parade.
· 7:00 – King/Queen Skill-a-thon competition followed by the crowning of the King or Queen.
· 8:00 – Entertainment – Micheal Leach, hypnotist.

Thursday, July 16th
· 11:30-1:00 - Senior Services BBQ $6
· 2:00-4:00 – Registration desk open at the Community Hall.
· 1:00-4:00 – Garden tours hosted by the Garden Club (meet at the Community Hall).
· 3:00-5:00 - Registration for the Nine 'N Dine 2-person Texas Scramble Golf Tournament at Lakeside Golf Club.
· BBQ supper hosted by the Fire Department and the Shoal Lake Firehall
· 10:00 – Fresh Air Cinema of "Finn on the Fly" at the west side of the fairgrounds. Bring your own chair and bug spray and dress for the weather. Concession by the 2009 Celebrations Committee. Admittance by donation.

Friday, July 17th
· 11:00-1:00 - Lunch at the Ukrainian Hall. Soup (Borcht or chicken noodle), sandwich, dessert, & beverage $7 .
· 12:00-4:00 - Children’s Festival at the North Shore Park. $5 wristband allows for unlimited rides on the train and in the bouncer and labrynth, arts & crafts, face painting, carnival games.
· 7:00 - Paintball games at Darr's farm south of town on Hwy 21. $15/person, bring your own equipment and supplies.
· 7:00-9:00 – Registration desk open at Community Hall.
· Just 4 U Daze activities downtown.
· 8:00 - BBQ concession by Prairie Mountain Regional Museum.
· 8:00 - local entertainment including the West Coast Dulcimer Duo.
· 9:00-1:00 – Just 4 U Daze Street Dance hosted by the Shoal Lake & District Chamber of Commerce.
· 10:00 – Fireworks at the lake.

Saturday, July 18th
· 8:00-11:00 – Fly-in breakfast at the Shoal Lake Airport hosted by the Flying Club. French toast and sausage $5.
· 9:00-3:00 – Town-wide garage sale coordinated by the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
· 10:00 - Horse drawn carriage parade down the Drive.
· 10:00 – Mud Bog registration opens, racing starts at 1:00 (west end of the fairgrounds).
· 11:00-2:00 – BBQ lunch downtown hosted by the Westminster United Church as per menu.
· 12:00, 2:00, & 4:00 - Paintball games continue at Darr's farm.
· 12:00-5:00 – Beer gardens at the fairgrounds hosted by the Eagles hockey team.
· 1:00–3:00 – Registration desk open at Community Hall.
· 4:00-6:00 - Art Gallery showcasing local artists at the Curling Club.
· 6:00 – Banquet at the Communiplex (banquet & dance $25/adult, $10 12 & under, preschool free)
· 8:00 - Local entertainment including singer/dancer, Veronique Mowbray.
· 9:00-1:00 - Dance at the Community Hall featuring "The Heartbreakers".
· 10:00-1:30 - Dance at the Communiplex featuring "Men Without Shame".
· The Shoal Lake Curling Club will be selling beef on a bun at both dances.

Sunday, July 19th
· 10:00-1:00 – Brunch at the Communiplex hosted by the Lions Club & Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
· 10:00-2:00 - Art Gallery showcasing local artists at the Curling Club.
· 11:00–Mud Bog registration operns at the west end of the fairgrounds. Racing starts at 1:00.
· 12:00–5:00 – Beer gardens at the rink hosted by the Balding Eagles.
· TBA - Floor hockey tournament at the Communiplex.
